DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 found BNP lawmaker Salauddin Quader Chowdhury guilty in Madhya Gohira genocide.

ICT-1 judge came up with the observation on Tuesday while reading out the verdict in the case against for his involvement in crimes against humanity.

On April 13 in 1971, Salauddin Quader led genocide in Madhya Gohira village.

Justice Anwarul Haque started reading the 172-page verdict at about 10:43am in presence of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury.

Earlier, Salauddin Quader Chowdhury was taken to the tribunal at 10:00am Tuesday as the tribunal will pronounce verdict.

He was indicted for 23 charges of crimes against humanity including genocide, murder, rape, abduction and tortures.
