Legal notice to Apollo Hospitals

RANGPUR:  Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) mayor Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu on Tuesday issued a legal notice to city’s Apollo Hospitals for giving compensation money bringing allegation of ignorance in treatment.

Lawyer Advocate Abdus Sobhan issued the legal notice accusing eight doctors on behalf of the city mayor.

The accused doctors are Nanda Kumar, Ajay Abrol, Shams Manwar, Julfikar Hayder, Chandra Prakash Dakwal, Sandeep Kumar Das, Proshanta Agarwal and Saiful Islam.

As per the notice, Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu claimed that after a fatal road crash at Shirajganj, he was admitted to the Apollo Hospitals for better treatment under supervision of Orthopedic Consultant Dr Nando Kumar.

Later, the doctor issued a release order after 19 days and asked me to take rest for one month and charged of Tk 1445,000.

Jhantu added: “But the reality gone faded as I found myself still ailing with my broken right arm while admitted in Rangpur Medical College Hospital and had an operation in the arm.”   

The notice claimed that, it is totally irresponsible behavior and cheating as they declared an ailing patient as good enough with treatment and claimed Tk 5 crore as an Indemnification.
