DHAKA: A case was filed with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court against four persons, including Sub-Inspector of Ramna Thana, on Wednesday.

Prabir Ghosh from Malancha residential area under Savar Thana filed the lawsuit.

The accused are Sub-Inspector Mohiuddin of Ramna Thana and Manik Sarker and Uttam Sarker of New Manik Jewelers at Baitul Mokarram market.

Taking the complaint into cognizance, Metropolitan Magistrate Mizanur Rahman ordered the Officer-in-Charge of Ramna Thana to take further actions.

The complaint said that defendant Manik issued a cheque of Tk 4 lakh, which he owed to plaintiff Prabir. The cheque was dishonoured at the bank.

Later, Manik issued another cheque which also was dishonoured from another bank.

Manik insulted Prabir and snatched two cheque of Tk 4 lakh and 3-lakh, driving license, mobile-phone when he went to inform the matter to Manik’s Baitul Mokarram market on July 10.

Later, SI Mohiuddin of Ramna Thana with the help of defendants called the plaintiff Prabir and asked for Tk 5 lakh as extortion by threatening to file a case against him under the narcotic act.
