CHITTAGONG: A robber lynched by mob at Sandwip upazila of the district on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Jahurul Haque, 45, son of Jalal Ahmed of the same area.

Sources said a group of robbers went to a house for robbery on Thursday late night. Sensing the presence of the robbers, villagers chased them and caught one.

Angry mob beat the robber and he died later, said a spot account of the incident.

On the other hand, five villagers were injured as robbers attacked them.

Officer-in-Charge of Sandwip Thana Gias Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
