DHAKA: Eminent journalist ABM Musa on Saturday said if the Rampal power plant can be inaugurated with the help of remote control, the upcoming polls also can be controlled by remote.
The senior journalist of the country came up with the observation in a reception programme at Dhaka University.
Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCJAA) organized the programme to confer the honor to him.
Musa said, “The people always ask me over the telephone how the election will be held. I reply, without getting proper answer, that it will be controlled by remote.”
Mentioning that the reception fascinated him, he criticized the practice of current journalism saying, “…Despite the technological advancement, quality of journalism has not improved much.”
He urged the journalists not to forget the difference between literature and journalism.
Addressing the function, Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique said, “We are proud and honoured for giving such reception to a journalist like ABM Musa.”
With Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department Dr Golam Rahman in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by Supernumerary Professor Sakhawat Ali Khan, CEO of Boisakhi Television Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul and editor of News Today Riazuddin Ahmed, Professor Sheikh Abdus Salam and editor of The Independent Mahbubul Alam.
