NARAYANGANJ: Two people were killed as a gas cylinder busted at a truck at port upazila of the district on early Sunday.

The deceased were identified as the truck driver Fayez Mia, 25, son of Khorshed Alam and helper Sohel, 22, son of late Samad Mia hailed from Comilla.

Police source said a cattle-laden truck got burnt suddenly as a gas cylinder busted on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Malibagh area of the upazila at around 4:00 am, leaving Fayez dead in the spot and injured Sohel.

Sohel was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the evening.

Kanchpur Highway Thana Sub-Inspector Shahjahan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
