Ctg rivalry attack kills 1, injures 3

CHITTAGONG: A man was killed and three others injured in a fierce clash between two groups in Isanagar village of Patharghata union under Karnaphuli Thana of the district on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam Prakash Laden, 50, son of late Imtiaz Sultan.

Sources said that during the last Ramadan, centering a cricket match, a clash took place and a case was filed in this regard.

Jahangir Alam with 4-5 men were going to appear before court at around 09:30am Monday and their opposition people attacked them with lethal weapons, leaving four people critically injured, sources added.

Later, injured Jahangir Alam succumbed to his injuries on the way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Confirming the matter, Karnaphuli Thana Officer-in-Charge Mohiuddin Mahmud told banglanews, “The injured were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.”
