CHITTAGONG: At least five people were injured in an explosion at the second floor of a three-story hostel of Jamiatul Ulum Al Islamia Madrasa in port city on Monday morning.

Following the blast, law enforcers and fire service officials visited the spot to unveil the mystery. Though the Madrasa authority said that the explosion was took place from computer UPS.

Sources said that five students of Islami law department lived in the room and an explosion that occurred at around 11:00am, leaving five students injured.

A student of the room Abdullah told to banglanews, “Hearing an explosion, I rushed to the room and found that fire spread out in the room.”

Later, using sand and water I doused the fire, he added.

Khulshi Thana Sub-inspector confirmed the matter to banglanews.
