Adilur released on bail

GAZIPUR: Odhikar Secretary Adilur Rahman Khan was released on bail on Friday morning after two months of his arrest under ICT act.

He was freed from the Dhaka Central Jail, Kashimpur (Part-1) at about 10.45am, said jailer Abdul Kuddus to banglanews.

Earlier on October 8, the High Court granted a 6-month interim to Adilur Rahman.

On August 10, a cyber crime team of Detective Branch of Police of DMP held the former attorney General from his Gulshan residence for his alleged involvement in violation of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Act.

It was alleged against him that Odhikar, a human rights organization, published a report saying 61 people were killed in law enforcers’ drive on May 5 midnight.
