Extremist chopped dead in Jessore

JESSORE: An extremist was chopped to death by miscreants in Ranagati village under Avaynagar Upazila of the district on Friday morning.  

The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam Mallik, 32, son of Sobahan Mallik of the village.

Sources said miscreants chopped to death near his village home on Thursday night.

Later, police recovered the body on Friday morning.

Avaynagar Thana Officer-in-Charge Kazi Abdus Salek told banglanews, “The extremist Jahangir Alam was a wanted criminal and went on hiding for long. He was accused in around 12 cases with Fultala Thana of Khulna.”

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Jessore Medical College Hospital for autopsy
