Bangladesh to get 98m Covid-19 vaccines from Gavi, Serum

Bangladesh to get 98m Covid-19 vaccines from Gavi, Serum Officials of the Directorate General of Health Services made the disclosure at a press conference on Wednesday.

Bangladesh will receive a total of 98 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from global vaccine alliance Gavi and Serum Institute of India.

Sixty-eight million doses of COVID-19 vaccines will come from Vaccine Alliance Gavi under a global arrangement within 2021.

Officials of the Directorate General of Health Services made the disclosure at a press conference on Wednesday. 

Cost for each shot of the vaccine from Gavi arrangement has been estimated at $1.62 to $2.

In addition to Gavi vaccines, Serum Institute of India will import another 30 million vaccines to Bangladesh as per a tripartite agreement signed by Bangladesh government, Serum and local pharmaceutical company Beximco Limited on November 5.
