Mahbub-e-Khoda alias Dewanbagi, Pir of Dewanbagh Durbar Sharif in Dhaka's Motijheel area, has passed away at the age of 70 after suffering a heart attack on Monday morning.

He breathed his last around 6:48 am while undergoing treatment at Uttara Residential Hospital in Dhaka.  

Syed Mehedi Hasan, media coordinator of Dewanbag Sharif, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Mehedi said Dewanbagi Pir suffered heart attack in his residence in the morning and quickly taken to hospital. He died shortly after admission. 

The body of Dewanbagi pir was kept at Dewanbag darbar sharif. He would be buried at Babe Madina in Motijheel after Zuhr prayer on Tuesday, Mehedi said.

As the death news broke, thousands of his followers have started to throng Dewanbag darbar sharif since morning.

Mahbub-e-Khoda was born on December 14, 1949, at Syed family of Bahadurpur village under Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria.
