Villagers clash injures 30 in Savar

SAVAR (DHAKA): At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a simple matter at Bhakurta Union in Savar, on outskirts in the city Thursday noon.

Witnesses said that entering through a narrow street Shaheen Alam of Mushurikhola and Mahiuddin of Firingikanda village locked into altercation and Mahiuddin was beaten up by Shaheen.

Later, following the incident people of Firingikanda and Mushurikhola village locked into clash at noon, leaving 30 people injured.

The injured were admitted to Savar Thana Health Complex and critically injured two were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, 18 houses were vandalized in the clash and a tension was prevailing in the area.

Confirming the matter Savar Model Thana Police (Investigation) Aminur Rahman told banglanews24.com, “Two cases were filed in this regard’.

Additional police forces were deployed in the area, he added.
