Daily Shomoyer Alo Senior Reporter and former Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) organising secretary Habibur Rahman was killed in a motorcycle accident at Hatirjheel area in the capital early Wednesday.

He was injured critically after his motorcycle hit a footpath near Begunbari area around 2:30am, said Sub-inspector Enamul Haque, duty officer of Hatirjheel Police Station.

Pedestrians took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead, he said.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, said that the body was kept at hospital morgue for an autopsy.
