Passenger train services between Bangladesh and India will resume on May 29.
The Indian High Commission in Dhaka said on Friday (May 20) that Maitri Express will leave from Dhaka on the other hand Bondhan Express will leave from Kolkata.
Moreover, Mitali Express, the third passenger train to be operated between the two countries, is likely to start operation from June 1.
The train would be operated between Dhaka and West Bengal's New Jalpaiguri (NJP) for four days a week.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, who is expected to visit India next month and Indian Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will jointly inaugurate the new train from Rail Bhavan in New Delhi virtually, railway sources said.
The train services between Kolkata and Bangladesh were suspended in March 2020 as a subject to COVID-19.
