The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 93 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Thursday (May 26).

Detectives and the law enforcers jointly made the arrest and seized illegal drugs from their possession.

The DMP seized 10,738 Yaba tablets, 66kg 740gm hemp, 150gm 200 puria of heroin, and seven bottle of phensidyl from their possessions, a DMP statement said.

Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said. 

According to the statement, a total of 59 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
