FAMNUS starts journey marking Bangamata's 92nd birth anniversary 

Fazilatunnessa Mujib Nari Uddokta Songothon (FAMNUS) has organized a discussion and award-giving ceremony to celebrate the 92nd birthday of Bangamata Shiek Fazilatunnessa Mujib on August 8, 2022 at Agargaon in the capital.

Besides, the official launch of FAMNAS was announced during the program. 

The program including discussion was presided over by Hosna Ara Begam, former Secretary of Bangladesh's Government. 

Dr Md Mofizur Rahman, Managing Director, SME Foundation, was the program's Chief Guest, and Rina Parveen, Former Additional Secretary, ICT Division, was a special guest.

Besides Achia Neela, CEO, Women in Digital, Kazi Emran, President, SEP, Farha Mahmud Trina, Chairman, Investment Standing Committee, E-Cab, Diana Zaman, CEO, Idolizer, Mir Shahed Ali, Founder Member, E-Cab, Junaed Ahmed, CEO, E Polli, Afroza Naznin Shumi, Entrepreneur,Culinary Artist,Recipe Writer, Trainer & Assessor(BTEB) was present at the program as a guest of honor. Naznin Nahar, Conveyer, FAMNUS and CEO, TechSolutions, delivered the welcome speech.

Addressing the Audience as Chief guest Dr Md Mofizur Rahman said, "Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujibs's contribution, inspiration, and sacrifice to achieve our independence is undeniable. Because of her strong and supportive role, Bangabandhu was able to make his dream of independence a reality.”

“It is a matter of hope that FAMNUS started its journey inspired by the supportive attributes of our Bangamata. Small female business owners need motivation, encouragement, and policy development to advance,” he added.  

He further said that we require a dedicated platform to create regulations and provide support for the long-term expansion of small businesses. Therefore, they can succeed in business if we can provide a platform for them and provide appropriate guidance. FAMNUS could be a networking platform like so and we will be happy to support FAMNUS in this regard.

Women entrepreneurs should work together for their own benefit and support each other in crisis. Helping and supporting others is the core learning of Bangamata’s life, said Rina Parveen, addressing the audience as special guest.

Our women entrepreneurs have been stronger gradually. Now they need to focus on their skill development and product quality, especially those who are working with food. Besides, small entrepreneurs should maintain honesty in business. And we can learn from Bangamatas's life how to handle the situation and focus on your dream.

Shanaz Akter, Owner of Lamia Printing and Folk, and Jesmin Akhter Chowdhury received the " Bangamata Uddokta Award" for their outstanding performance as entrepreneurs and creating job opportunities for more than 150 people.

As one of the founders of FAMNUS Hosna Ara Begam, said, "Bangamata has done tremendous and supported the independence war in 1971. She not only supported Bangabandu but also supported the freedom fighters then. That was not enough, she became the mother of all Birongona. 

“She has such leadership and humanities skills. We have been inspired by her life and have begun to develop a networking platform to assist small women entrepreneurs in market access, financial access, skill development, and growth, as well as working with stakeholders to develop policy.As an alliance, we have some other forums with us, and we expect everyone's support to move forward,” she added. 

Aside from Mir Shahed Ali, the program featured Achia Neela, Diana Parveeb, Afroza naznin sumi, Farha Mahmud Trina, Mir Shahed Ali, and Junaed Amed. A product display has took place at the venue where more than 30 entrepreneurs were present.
