Businessman stabbed to death in Dhaka

A businessman Friday (August 12) was allegedly stabbed to death by a robber inside an ATM booth in Uttara of the capital.

The victim was identified as Sharif Ullah, a tile trader by profession. 

The identity of the robber is Md. Abdus Samad (38).

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara West Police Station Mohammad Mohsin confirmed the matter. 

He said Abdus Samad entered the ATM booth after Sharif Ullah withdrew cash from the booth, and stabbed him randomly when he was counting the money inside.

Later, police rushed him to a nearby hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead, he said.

After the legal process, police have sent the body to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospitals’ morgue for autopsy, said OC, adding a case has been filed in this regard on behalf of the family.
