BANDARBAN: Two people were killed and two others were injured as a truck plunged into a roadside ditch on Bandarban-Keranirhat highway in Reichha area under Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday evening.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Shahidullah 47, and Jahir Ahmed, 37, a laborer of the truck.

Locals said a goods-laden truck fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the steering at 6:00pm, leaving Jahir dead on the spot and two others injured critically.

However, the injured were rushed to Bandarban Sadar Hospital where Shahidullah succumbed to his injuries.

Officer-in-Charge of Bandarban Sadar Thana confirmed the matter to banglanews.
