DHAKA: BNP’s acting joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on Monday claimed the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with the cabinet members would bring peace in the country.

He came up with the demand to journalists at party’s Naya Paltan office on the second consecutive day of BNP-led 18-party called 84-hour hartal.

In a reaction on the resignation of cabinet members Rizvi said, “This would not produce any result.”

“If the Prime Minister was resigned, we would have understood that we were moving towards a solution,” he added.

He also said, “BNP wants resignation of cabinet members along with the Prime Minister. Sheikh Hasina’s resignation would bring peace in the country.”

BNP leader alleged that Awami League is trying to seize power once again by implementing their blue print through a so-called all-party interim government.
