DHAKA: In protest against ‘unconstitutional’ formation of all-party poll-time government and to press demand for non-partisan government, opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance started a rally on Friday afternoon.

With the recitation from the verse of holy Quran, the rally began at capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan.

Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the rally as special guest and BNP vice chairman Sadek Hossain Khoka will chair the rally.

Thousands of leaders and activists of the alliance started to throng the rally ground with processions carrying banners and festoons.

The alliance is staging countrywide rallies Friday with the same protest and demand.
