DHAKA: Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman HM Ershad on Saturday categorically urged the people to cast their vote for plow symbol in stead of candidates.

The former military ruler of the country came up with the assertion while addressing a joining ceremony at Jatiya Party’s office in Banani of the city in the noon.

Ershad said people wanted to get rid of both Awami League, for their corruption, and BNP, for their inability to play an effective role as opposition.

He also said in the next general election, Jatiya Party would fight in all 300 constituencies.

Former student leader Mirza Khorshed Alam, also a businessman, joined in the party.

Ershad announced Khorshed as a candidate of Jatiya Party for Jamalpur-5 constituency.

Commerce Minister GM Quader, also Presidium Member, Secretary General of the Party ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, also Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister were among others present at the function.
