PIROJPUR: At least three people were injured in a clash between police and hartal supporters in Milbari area under Zianagar upazila of the district on Friday during the 18-party enforced hartal.

Sources said that in support of hartal, picketers brought out a hartal procession in the area at around 10:00am and police protested them that triggered a clash.

At one stage police fired 30 rounds of bullets to bring the situation under control, leaving three injured.

Confirming the matter, Indurkani Thana Officer-in-Charge Nasir Uddin told banglanews, “Additional law enforcers were deployed in the area.”

Zianagar upazila unit BNP called the dawn-to-dusk hartal in the upazila for Friday protesting the arrest and harassment of leaders-activists of 18-party alliance.
