NILPHAMARI: A BNP leader was beaten to death and two others were injured by miscreants at Domar upazila of the district on early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Jalal Uddin 45, BNP Organizing Secretary of Bamunia Union and son of Mahir Uddin resident of the area.

Injured witnesses said that a gang of miscreants interceprted them in Andharar Mor area of the upazila at around 12:00 am while they were coming from Nilphamari Sadar riding on a motorcycle.

The miscreants tied them up with trees and beaten them up mercilessly, leaving Jalal dead on the spot and injured two others.

The body was sent to Nilphamari Adhunik Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy and the injured were admitted to Upazila Health Complex.

Domar Thana Officer-in-Charge Kafil Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
