DHAKA: Three ministers and two state ministers of Jatiya Party submitted resignation letters to party Chairman HM Ershad as he directed them.

They are Rowshan Ershad, Health and Family Planning Minister, GM Quader, Commerce Minister, Ruhul Amin Hawlader, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister, Mujibul Haque Chunnu, State Minister for Youth and Sports, and Salma Islam, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs.

The others will submit the resignation letter within tonight, said Ruhul Amin Hawlader to banglanews.

Five ministers submitted their resignation to the party chairman HM Ershad in the evening at Ershad’s residence President Park.

Earlier a day after the announcement of boycotting the 10th upcoming elections, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Wednesday urged JP ministers to resign from the cabinet.

A new cabinet of the polls-time all-party interim government was formed to oversee the 10th parliamentary elections in line with the constitution.

President M Abdul Hamid administered the oath to the new ministers of the cabinet around 3:07pm on November 18.
