RAJSHAHI: At least 25 people, including officer-in-charge and three constables, were injured in a clash with Chhatra Shibir men in Binodpur area of the divisional city on Tuesday morning.

The injured police men are officer-in-charge of Motihar thana Abdul Majid, constables Rezaul Karim, Mirajuddin and Mizan.

Witnesses said activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir beat up four policemen including OC randomly after being obstructed to bring out a pro-hartal procession at around 8:00am.

On information, addition police men rushed to the spot and fired more than 100 rounds of tear shells and bullets from shotgun and sound grenade to bring to situation under control.

Police and RAB are conducting drive in Binodpur and adjacent areas to nab the attackers.

The injured police men were admitted to Rajshahi medical College Hospital.
