JESSORE: A Jamaat activist was killed as a trucked rammed him when he tried to torch the truck in Bagharpara upazula of the district on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Ashraful, 20, son of Mokbul of Mohiron village of the same upazila.

Local sources said that a group of Jamaat-Shibir activists were preparing to block road in Bolteghata crossing putting wood logs. At that time, they tried to torch a truck. The truck driver tried to leave the place with the truck hurriedly, leaving Ashraful rammed and killed.

Later, Jamaat-Shibir men torched the truck and took Ashraful’s body to his house.

Officer-in-Charge of Bagharpara Thana GG Biswas confirmed the matter to banglanews.
