DHAKA: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday categorically said the conspiracy against the country is still prevailing in spite of having achieved freedom from enemy in 1971.

The leader of the opposition came up with the observation on in a message to the nation marking great Victory Day.

In the message, she said, “To grasp our independence and sovereignty, an occupation force is trying to control the nation.”

She added: “We have to build a national unity to get relieve from the evil forces by the spirit of Liberation War.”

Khaleda Zia also said the people took part in the Liberation War to build a democratic country. “But several times the advancement of the democracy, fundamental and human rights of people are being hampered,” she said.

On the occasion of the Victory Day, Khaleda Zia gave greeting to the nation.
