DHAKA: Opposition BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir greeted people marking the great Victory Day.

The BNP leader, in a statement, said: “I would like to hail all of the Bangladeshi nationals ahead of 43rd Victory Day.”

He said, “After a nine month of bloodshed and brave fight by freedom fighters, blessed son of the soil, we achieved the independence on 16th December in 1971, the historic day for the nation.”

Fakhrul also paid homage to the martyrs during the liberation war.
