Ashraful Hossen Alom popularly known as Hero Alom candidate of Bangladesh Congress for Bogura-4 (Kahalu and Nandigram) constituency in the 12th National Assembly elections said his nomination was cancelled due to the mistakes made by his lawyer. 

He said that he would try to get nomination again after rectifying these mistakes and if required, he would go to the High Court.

According to an EC source, Alom’s nomination papers were canceled due to four mistakes.

Bogura Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Saiful Islam confirmed the matter on Sunday (December 3). 

He said, “Ashraful Hossain alias Hero Alam claimed himself as an independent candidate though he is participating from a political party. In that case, he faild to show even one percent support form of the total voters for the independent candidate. Alom did not submit the statement of assets in the nomination affidavit, and he also did not sign the nomination affidavit. That is why his nomination paper has been cancelled.”

However, Hero Alam admitted his mistakes after cancellation of his nomination papers.
