Firoz Rashid, Sunil Shubho expelled from Jatiya Party

The Jatiya Party (JaPa) has expelled its Co-Chairman Kazi Firoz Rashid and Presidium member Sunil Shubho Roy, stripping them of all positions in the party.

JaPa Chairman Ghulam Muhammed Quader made the decision, which has already become effective, exercising his authority as per the party’s constitution, read a press release issued on Friday.

However, the party cited no reason for such a decision in the release.

During the 12th parliamentary election held on 7 January, the Jatiya Party faced a debacle securing only 11 seats though the party reached a deal with the Awami League to make its victory in 26 seats with the withdrawal of the ruling party contestants.
