COMILLA: Election Commission (EC) has postponed voting in four polling centres in Manoharganj upazila of the district as BNP-Jamaat activists’ attack destroyed election equipments here on Saturday night.

The centres were Batabaria Primary School of Saraspur union, Boro Chandpur Primary School, Bhaupur Government Primary School and Baisgaon Government Primary School.

Acting presiding officer of the upazila Syed Tayeb Hossain told banglanews due to hijacking and destruction of election equipments, EC postponed voting in four centres here.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Manoharganj Thana Harun-ur-Rashid Chowdhury told banglanews that additional police have been deployed in the area to thwart further untoward situation.
