Voting in Naogaon-2 underway amid tight security

The election to the Naogaon-2 (Dhamoirhat and Patnitala) constituency, which was postponed following the death of independent candidate Aminul Haque, is underway.

The balloting began at 8am and will continue till 4pm today (Feb 12) without any break under tight security.

Voters were seen casting their votes in a festive mood, Banglanews correspondent reports.

Four candidates are vying for election as MP.

A total of 1,412 people including 124 presiding officers and 706 assistant presiding officers will serve as polling officers.

Earlier on December 29, the Election Commission postponed the election for Naogaon-2 due to the death of Aminul Haque.
