JESSORE: Joint forces, in separate drives, held 85 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami from different places of the district for their alleged involvement in violence during the 10th parliamentary polls.

Sources said they were held from Sadar, Monirampur, Chaugachha and Abhoynagar upazilas of the district between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Jessore Sadar Assistant Superintendent of Police Reshma Sharmin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
