NOAKHALI: Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, is observing daylong hartal on Wednesday amid road barricade, procession and cocktails explosion.

The organization called the hartal in the district protesting of killing Mamun, a leader of Chittagong University unit Chhatra Shibir.

Witnesses said that the movement of all long-route buses remained stopped due to dense fog and hartal.

In support of hartal, activists of Chhatra Shibir brought out a procession in the town at around 8:00am. Later, law enforces dispersed procession and nabbed one from the spot.

Besides, police in a drive detained two people on Tuesday night.

District police Super Ansur Rahman said to banglanews that police were deployed at the key points of the town to avert untoward acts
