A Dhaka court today (April 18) sent BNP central leader Habibur Rashid Habib and Jubo Dal sports affairs secretary Abul Mansur Khan Dipak to jail as they surrendered in a sabotage case filed with the capital's Paltan Model Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Akteruzzaman passed the order as Habib and Dipak, convicted and sentenced in absentia to two years in jail in the case, surrendered before the court and pleaded for bail.

After hearing their bail pleas, the court scrapped their petitions and sent them to jail.

A court in 2023 convicted and sentenced to 2.1 years in jail in the case.
