DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted bail to BNP’s former lawmaker Shammi Akter in a case filed with Banani
Thana for vandalizing and torching vehicles.

Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque passed the order after hearing on the case.

Advocate Sanaullah Mia, who moved for the bail petition, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On December 25 last, police held Shammi Akter from in front of BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office in the city.

Later on January 7, police produced her before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court with five-day remand plea but court denied the plea.
