DHAKA: Acting Secretary General of BNP Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday categorically said that recaptured militant Rakib was killed in crossfire for hiding the facts.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the observation after paying tribute to the grave of Ziaur Rahman, founder of BNP, in the noon.
The BNP leader also said that such incident is fiasco of the government. “The JMB member Rakib could divulge more information if he was alive,” he said.
Mirza Fakhrul further said that the ruling Awami League is responsible for massive killing and forced disappearances in the country. “These killings are similar to genocide,” he claimed.
Addressing to his party leaders and activists, he urged them to prepare for enforing a tougher anti-government movement. He also expressed hope to hold fresh polls in free and fair manner soon under non-party caretaker government.
Fakhrul also criticized the Anti-Corruption Commission and law enforcers for their low performance.
Criticizing the organizations, he and said that ACC and law enforcers are the parts of the drama of the incumbent government.
JMB member Rakib, who was snatched and later held on Sunday, was killed in a gunfight between his cohorts and joint force in Sakhipur in Tangail early Monday.
