A court in Dhaka today granted a five-day remand for former state minister Dr Enamur Rahman in connection with the murder of Comilla University student Abdul Qaium.
Dhaka Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate KM Mohiuddin passed the order as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place him on a
10-day remand.
Qaium, 25, was shot dead during an anti-discrimination rally at Savar bus stand on August 5.
His mother, Kulsum Begum, filed a case with Savar Model Police Station. Dr. Rahman, who was arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of police from Bhatara area on January 27, faces charges related to the student's death.
