RAJSHAHI: BNP central committee on Thursday expelled joint general secretary of Rajshahi district BNP DM Ziaur Rahman Zia, also general secretary of Baghmara upazila for violating party discipline.

Ziaur Rahman is set to participate in the upazila polls as a rebel candidate of BNP whereas party-supported Baghmara upazila BNP president Professor Mokhlesur Rahman Mandal on March 23.

District BNP president Nadim Mostafa confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He also said that they sent a letter, signed by joint secretary general of the party, in this connection.
