BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia is on her way to Dhaka after receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
A Qatari Royal Air Ambulance carrying the BNP leader departed London’s Heathrow Airport at 9:15 pm Bangladesh time on Monday (6 May).
She is accompanied by her daughter-in-law Dr. Zubaida Rahma, and Syeda Shamila Rahman Sinthi.
The aircraft will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 10:30 am on Tuesday.
Khaleda Zia left Dhaka on 7 January and arrived in the UK the following day for advanced treatment. She spent 17 days at a specialist clinic in London before continuing treatment under the care of professors Patrick Kennedy and Jennifer Cross at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence.
This marks her second medical visit to London in recent years. In July 2017, she travelled to the UK for follow-up treatment for eye and foot conditions, returning to Dhaka in October after a three-month stay.
