TANGAIL: Upazila unit BNP observed the half-day hartal in Dhanbari Upazila of the district from 6:00am Tuesday.

The party observed the hartal protesting the attack on BNP leaders during upazila elections on Monday noon.

No picketers and party activists were seen on anywhere of the upazila till the report was filing, reported banglanews correspondent.

Besides, no untoward situation was reported from anywhere of the upazila.

However, no long route vehicles also left the town.

Additional law enforcers were deployed in the key areas of the upazila.

Earlier on Monday, upazila unit BNP announced the hartal in a press conference.

Party sources said, at least 15 people, including BNP-backed defeated chairman, winner woman vice-president candidate and Municipal unit general secretary, were injured when the activists of Awami League attacked them.
