JAYPURHAT: District Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal called half-day hartal for Thursday in the district in protest against sending 12 of their leaders and activists to jail and demanding their release.

District Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary Alamgir Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews on Wednesday evening.

Earlier in the day, 12 Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal activists, including district Chhatra Dal President Masud Rana Pradhan, were sent to jail in connection to burning district Awami League office.

District Awami League Office at Central Mosque Road was burnt on December 10 last.

In this connection, district Awami League organizing secretary Jillur Rahman Khan filed a case against 15 activists of BNP men.
