Communist Party of China (CPC) has invited a formal invitation to BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to visit China.

CPC Politburo member and Congress Deputy Li Hongzhong extended invitation during a high-level meeting between the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Beijing. 

The CPC expressed hope that the engagement would open a new chapter in the relationship between the two parties and between Bangladesh and China.

The information was shared in a statement issued on Monday (June 23) by BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.

Earlier in the day, at around 2:00pm, the BNP delegation visited China Railway Group Limited as part of their tour.

The bilateral meeting was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir leading the delegation. CPC’s Li Hongzhong warmly welcomed the BNP leaders at the beginning of the meeting.

During the discussion, Mirza Fakhrul praised China's leadership in regional politics and expressed hope that China’s efforts would expand into broader multilateral cooperation.
