BCL leader dies in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ: A leader of Bangladesh Chatra League, student wing of ruling Awami League, Munshiganj unit died in Dhaka on Monday evening.

The deceased was identified as Mahbub Alam, 26, son of Khokan Pradhan hailed from Madhyamkandi village under Baushia union of Gajaria upazila of Munshiganj.

Mahbub was injured in a clash between Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) supporters during the fourth phase of upazila election on Sunday.

His brother-in-law and also a Chhatra League leader M Mohsin told banglanews that Mahbub died at Lab Aid Hospital in Dhaka at 5:45pm on Monday.

Mohsin was wounded on the previous day while supporters of Awami League and BNP-backed chairman candidates locked in a clash among them.

M Farid Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Gajaria Thana told banglanews that no one complained in this connection.
