BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman held a meeting with Tracy Ann Jacobson, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Dhaka, during the second week of July in London.
The development was confirmed by Humayun Kabir, Foreign Affairs Adviser to Tarique Rahman, on Wednesday (August 6).
Humayun Kabir, speaking to the media, said that growing international interest in the BNP and the upcoming national election prompted the meeting. The two sides discussed BNP’s views on the election and formation of the next government.
He also said that Tarique Rahman is expected to return to Bangladesh later this year.
Earlier, on June 13, Tarique Rahman held a one-on-one meeting in London with Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.
