DHAKA: Law Minister Advocate Anisul Haque on Saturday demanded punitive action against the persons for their involvement in attacking the activists of Gonojagoron Mancho.
The minister also said it would be looked into whether the activists followed the rules while holding a rally and police attacked them illegally.
He came up with the assertion while addressing as panel speaker of BBC Bangla Sanglap (talks) at the BIAM auditorium in the evening.
BNP leader Dr Osman Faruque, executive director of TIB Dr Iftekharuzzaman and senior research fellow of BIBS Dr Naznin Ahmed were among others present at the programme.
Dr Osman Faruque said the Ganojagoron Mancho initiated movement with the support of the government.
But the Mancho is not being allowed holding rallies as it is no more necessary for the government, he claimed.
He added: “The incumbent government is showing the same face to all opposition.”
During the time, he also urged the government not to prevent of expressing freedom of speech and holding political programmes.
