DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday categorically said the gestures of India about the water of Teesta is a below standard drama.
The spokesperson for the party came up with the assertion in a discussion meeting titled ‘Current Power Situation: Context Bangladesh’ organized by Association of Engineers Bangladesh (AEB) at Engineers Institution of the city at noon.
The senior BNP leader said, “Gradually other countries are taking the control of Bangladesh. We must find out why the situation is like that.”
He also said: “Electricity can be produced if the country exists.”
BNP secretary general alleged like all other sectors, rampant looting is continuing in the power sector.
Mirza Fakhrul also said, “The government is worried about the reactions of those who helped them to assume power instead of the countrymen.”
He also urged countrymen to help BNP to organize a mass movement against the incumbent AL government.
With acting AEB president Engineer ANH Akhter Hossain in the chair, the programme was, among others, addressed among others, by Jubo Dal president Moazzem Hossain Alal and chairman of IEB, Dhaka Engineer Mohsin Ali.
