DHAKA: A Dhaka court Sunday deferred till October 8 the hearing of charge framing against 12 BNP leaders and activists including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a cocktail blast case.
Dhaka-I additional metropolitan session judge Zakia Parvin passed the deferment order in response to a time-extension appeal filed by Fakhrul’s lawyer Zainul Abedin Mezbah.
Fakhrul’s lawyer sought time as his client, also the prime suspect of the case, could not be present on dock.
The court also fixed October 8 for charge framing hearing.
Earlier on December 9 in 2012, Motijheel Thana Sub-Inspector Mokarram Hossain filed a case against BNP leaders and activists on blasting cocktail, vandalizing vehicles and creating bar to police activities.
Later on December in 2013, police submitted the charge sheet to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court (CMM) accusing 12 BNP leaders and activists including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
