DHAKA: BNP Secretary-General Khandaker Delwar Hossain said Mannan Bhuiyan, his dissident predecessor in the party, is now beyond everything and that the countrymen and history would evaluate his political career in future.

He made the guarded remark after attending the second janaza for the veteran politician held at the National Mosque, Baitul Mokarram.  

Delwar said, "We felt deeply shocked after hearing about his death last night and our party’s chairperson gave condolence message."

“We express deep sympathies for the bereaved family members,” said the BNP leader.

Standing Committee Member of BNP Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Nazrul Islam Khan, Salauddin Qader Chowdhury, Vice-Chairman and Dhaka Mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) President Manjurul Ahsan Khan, former President Abdur Rahman Biswas, ZA Khan and singer Fakir Alamgir, among others, attended the funeral congregation.
